Privacy Policy for Voice-Controlled Skills by Ideaplatz, LLC

This privacy policy governs your use of the voice-controlled software (“skills”) released for Amazon Alexa and other similar platforms, created by Ideaplatz, LLC.

Information You Provide

At Registration

This Skill obtains the information you provide when you download and register the Skills through the Amazon Alexa skills store. No registration with Ideaplatz is required. Payment information (credit card information, etc.) is not collected by Skills created by Ideaplatz at this time. If you acquired this skill via a first-party skills store, your payment data is managed exclusively by that marketplace.

During Skill Operation

Certain skills may allow you to provide data about yourself in order to operate the skill, as listed below. By interacting with the skill and providing this information on an opt-in basis, you give Ideaplatz permission to store this data, in the form of name:value pairs of holidays and dates, in association with your anonymized customer ID. We will never store your name, address, or other unspecified data in our database.

  • My Countdown allows you to specify specific personal information, i.e. a birthday, a vacation, and an anniversary. Additional holiday types may be supported in the future, and all will be covered by this policy.
  • Trainer Tips does not solicit or store any customer information.

This data will only be used (1) during your operation of the skill and (2) for software maintenance and debugging purposes. Your data as provided to the skill will not be used for marketing purposes.

Removal of your data

At any time, you may remove any data you previously stored by using the Skill’s provided features. You may also discontinue your use of the Skill by disabling it in the relevant marketplace.

The data you provide as part of your use of the Skill is stored and processed by Amazon Web Services and by the Alexa Voice Service. By using the skill, you acknowledge that your data will be transferred and stored by these processors.

Information collected by the platform

In addition, the platform may collect certain information on behalf of the skill automatically as part of normal operation within the context of the Amazon Alexa or Facebook Messenger environment, including, but not limited to, your hardware device unique ID, a unique user ID, your prior usage of the Skills, and information about the way you use the Skills. This data may be used for monitoring and improvement of the Skill software.

Disclosure of information

We may disclose User Provided and Automatically Collected Information under the following specific conditions:

  • As required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process;
  • When we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request;
  • With our trusted services providers who work on our behalf, do not have an independent use of the information we disclose to them, and have agreed to adhere to the rules set forth in this privacy statement.

What are my opt-out rights?

You can easily stop all collection of information by the Skills by disabling the Skills on your Amazon Alexa account.

Data Retention Policy

We will retain User Provided data for as long as you use the Skills and for a reasonable time thereafter. Once a Skill is deactivated, we will delete the User Provided Data within 30 days. Telemetry and aggregated automatically collected data may remain in anonymized form without a link to your customer ID.

How we can contact you

At this time, Ideaplatz skills do not collect contact information (defined as email address, social media account information, phone number, or address.) If at any time we begin collecting this information, we will update this policy accordingly.

Since our skill does not collect contact information, we will only contact you within the confines of the skill you are using. If you want optional updates about future releases, you are welcome to subscribe to the Ideaplatz mailing list. Important information concerning required notices, upgrade and/or bug notifications will normally be distributed within the skill itself, or within the Amazon skills store.

Children

We do not use the Skills to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13. We recommend this skill be used only by adults, or by children with direct adult supervision. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that their child has provided personal information without their consent, that information can be removed at any time within the skill or by disabling the skill.

Security

We are concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. We provide physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information we process and maintain. For example, we limit access to this information to authorized employees and contractors who need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our Skills. Please be aware that, although we endeavor to provide reasonable security for information we process and maintain, no security system can prevent all potential security breaches.

Your Consent

By using the Skills, you are consenting to our processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us. “Processing,” means using information collected by the Skills or by the computer network facilities provided by Amazon in any way, including, but not limited to, collecting, storing, deleting, using, combining and disclosing information, all of which activities will take place in the United States.

Updates to this Policy

This Privacy Policy for Skills is effective as of (05/25/2018) and will remain in effect except with respect to any changes in its provisions in the future, which will be in effect immediately after being posted on this page.
We reserve the right to update or change our Privacy Policy for Skills at any time and you should check this Privacy Policy periodically. Any continued use of the Skill following public modifications to this Privacy Policy will constitute your acknowledgment of the modifications and your consent to abide and be bound by the modified Privacy Policy for Skills.
